Grace Hartmann

Clinical Intern

Grace Hartmann is a MSW Intern from the University of Connecticut. She is currently in her Advanced Standing year with a concentration in Individuals, Groups, and Families. She graduated from Sacred Heart University (SHU) in May 2025 with a Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) Degree.

During her time at SHU she completed two impactful internships that shaped her passion and clinical foundation. Grace interned at a Juvenile Detention Center, working with all male youth. She developed core skills in case management, assessment, and collaboration. Her second placement was in a hospital-based Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) serving a diverse population of children ages 5-12. In this role, she facilitated and co-facilitated groups that focused on social skills, emotional regulation, and psychoeducation. Her work at IOP followed an evidence-based Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) informed curricula.

grace-hartmannAt UConn, Grace continues to deepen her commitment to clinical work with children and adolescents, particularly those with developmental and intellectual disabilities. She is a current trainee in the CT LEND (Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities) Program. With this training, she is dedicated to enhancing service systems for children with autism and other neurodevelopmental and related disabilities.

Grace brings a strengths-based and anti-racist perspective to her practice, emphasizing safety, trust, and strong therapeutic rapport. She is dedicated to fostering inclusive, empowering spaces for youth and their families.
