Maeve O’Brien

Clinical Intern

Maeve is a clinical intern currently in the process of earning her Master of Social Work, with a clinical focus in behavioral health. Her interest in the mental health field is rooted in a desire to better understand human behavior, emotional well-being, and the impact of relationships and environment on overall functioning. These interests guide her approach to therapy, which emphasizes empathy, curiosity, and respect for each client’s lived experience.

As part of her graduate training, Maeve has completed clinical coursework and supervised fieldwork that has allowed her to gain experience working with adolescents and supporting a range of emotional and behavioral concerns. She is interested in working with individuals across the lifespan and values meeting clients where they are in their therapeutic journey.

maeve-obrienMaeve is being trained in a variety of therapeutic modalities and is particularly drawn to cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and a strengths-based approach. She believes in helping clients identify their existing strengths while developing practical tools to navigate challenges and promote personal growth. Her therapeutic style is collaborative and supportive, with a focus on creating a safe, non-judgmental space where clients feel heard and understood.

At Shoreline Therapy Center, Maeve aims to continue developing her clinical skills under the supervision of licensed clinicians while providing thoughtful, client-centered care. Outside of her clinical work, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, exploring new places, and staying active.
