Victoria Vaillancourt, LPC-A

Therapist

Tori was drawn to this field by her passion for helping people understand themselves and the world around them. She is guided by her empathy, honesty, and positivity which allow her to create a safe and welcoming space for her clients. She enjoys working with clients of all ages to promote growth in emotional well-being and life satisfaction.

Tori received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology in 2023 at Sacred Heart University with a double minor in Criminal Justice and Creative Writing. Post-Graduation, she enrolled in Sacred Heart’s Clinical Mental Health Counseling program, interning here at Shoreline and graduating in December of 2025. She is SMART certified and always looking to learn more to ensure she is guiding her clients to the best of her ability.

victoria-vaillancourtHer career in mental health began as a mental health worker at an inpatient psychiatric facility. After a year, she moved to the Creative Rehabilitation Services department, where she continued to work as a creative therapist. During her internship at Shoreline, she worked in a long-term care facility with older adults as an assistant director of therapeutic recreation.

While Tori believes in a humanistic client-centered practice, she also recognizes the individual needs of each client she works with; molding her therapeutic style to their goals for therapy. She sees herself as a guide for her clients, helping them create their own solutions and understand themselves better. She appreciates the techniques used in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Psychoanalysis, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). When used together, these theories can help provide an understanding of how our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are connected, where they come from, and how they can be addressed in a way that increases motivation, self-esteem, and confidence.

In her personal life, she enjoys writing poetry, hiking, and creating her recipes in the kitchen. Tori appreciates a day on the water and spending time outside whenever she gets the chance.
